Media’s own Bill Whitaker was among several “60 Minutes” and CBS News leaders who welcomed a Mural Arts Philadelphia-led delegation to the storied CBS Broadcast Center last week as part of ceremonies to honor the late broadcast pioneer Ed Bradley.
“This is great to be a part of,” said Whitaker, a Penncrest High School grad. “For these students to have the opportunity to learn about Ed, to learn about what he stood for, and to get to come here to meet people that he worked with is an amazing experience for these kids.”
In honor of award-winning journalist, select students from Bradley’s alma mater St. Ignatius Catholic School, Blankenburg Elementary and the Philadelphia Learning Academy took a tour of the New York City studios. They were joined by Whitaker and some of television’s most iconic figures in painting panels for Bradley’s mural.
